PIMESA’s management board will discuss the failed tender on Friday 6 November and propose relaunching the contract with a 10% increase in the budget. The measure is intended to attract construction companies and keep the neighbourhood regeneration project moving.
The planned building will contain 27 two-bedroom and 18 three-bedroom protected homes, along with 44 parking spaces and a ground-floor commercial unit. Construction is expected to take no more than 24 months once work begins, and the homes are primarily intended for families displaced from block 8 after structural problems led to its evacuation.
The initial tender was valued at €4.6 million; the new figure is expected to be around €5.3 million including VAT, subject to final approval.
