Torrevieja improved after their previous 4–1 defeat by Levante UD B and threatened through Johan, Gabi and Gálvez. Goalkeeper Javi also made an important save, while the hosts had further opportunities before half-time. Ontinyent remained dangerous, but neither side broke the deadlock.
The home team increased the pressure after the interval. Adri came close from six yards, only for the visiting goalkeeper to save, and Pucho and Ismail also went close. Torrevieja’s clean sheet was a positive response, although manager Piquero’s side were left to regret missed chances during a strong final spell.
