The local government approved the documents for the project on 23 October. The contract will be awarded through a simplified open procedure and the successful team will have four months to prepare the technical plans, starting the day after the agreement is formally signed.
The plans will set out a comprehensive overhaul of public roads and urban services in the residential area. They are expected to cover streets and pavements, accessibility improvements and the modernisation of existing infrastructure.
The future works are intended to be divided into three phases so that each section can be contracted and carried out independently. Municipal technical reports point to ageing public spaces and narrow, deteriorated pavements that no longer meet current accessibility requirements.
