The work covers Calle Perseo, Avenida de Inglaterra and the streets Adriano, Puerto Romano and Vía Augusta. It began on 22 October with the removal of the existing surface before the new asphalt is laid. Calle Perseo accounts for 6,886 square metres, Avenida de Inglaterra for 4,500 and the other three streets for 3,500 combined.
The project forms part of a wider municipal resurfacing and accessibility programme covering more than 327,000 square metres across Torrevieja. The wider contract also includes wider pavements, dropped kerbs and renewed signs at selected locations.
