The budget was approved at an extraordinary meeting with support from the People’s Party, VOX and Sueña Torrevieja, while the Socialist group voted against it. It marks the first time the town’s accounts have exceeded €200 million and includes €47,029,655.96 in capital investment.
Major allocations include the Sea and Salt Museum and its surroundings, a new Alzheimer’s Day Centre, the Los Locos Beach promenade, La Plasa and areas around the port. The plan also increases funding for public safety, waste collection, street cleaning, parks and gardens, as well as primary social assistance.
The accounts maintain rental support for residents aged 18 to 35 and set aside €2 million for projects arising from participatory budgets. They also include improvements to schools, sports services and the iHub Torretech high-technology business centre.
