Banned lorry driver arrested for drink-driving on A-7 near Alcoy

The driver was stopped during a routine inspection of commercial vehicles near Alcoy. A breath test recorded more than three times the maximum permitted level for professional drivers, set at 0.15 milligrams per litre of exhaled air. He also faced an administrative penalty of €1,000 and the loss of six licence points.

Further checks showed that a court driving ban remained in force until 2028 and that an outstanding warrant required his arrest and imprisonment. After appearing before the court in Alcoy, he was ordered to prison.
