The event, organised by Orihuela Town Hall’s Social Welfare department, will begin at 19:00 and is open to everyone. It is aimed particularly at educators and students in social integration, equality and related subjects, but all residents interested in learning more about the Roma community are welcome.
Juan David Santiago Torres, who leads the University of Alicante’s Diversity Support Unit, will give a talk titled ‘Past, present and future of the Roma people’. The programme will also feature Cafetito Flamenco from Alicante. Organisers say the session will address cultural contributions, discrimination, hate speech and the importance of inclusion.
