The council said it shared the grief of the families of those who died and sent its support to people who were injured or are still waiting for news about relatives. The statement described the disaster as a painful reminder of the importance of solidarity and human support in moments of crisis.

Orihuela also recognised the work of emergency services, healthcare staff, security forces and other professionals involved in the response. The council said the town stood alongside the people of Urda and all those affected by the tragedy.
